BOUNCE staff is happy to announce that all of our BOUNCERS have arrived safely in Mineral Wells. Students and leaders are excited for what lies ahead. We welcomed over 70 BOUNCERS through the doors of Mineral Wells Jr. High today. A total of four churches brought student missionaries this week. Churches participating are Brazos Meadows Baptist Church of Waco, First Baptist Church Copperas Cove, First United Methodist Church of Farmington, NM and Sharpstown Baptist Church.
Groups had long drives this morning and are excited to finally arrive in Mineral Wells. They're excited to see how God will work in them and through them this week at BOUNCE.
After settling into their rooms, BOUNCERS attended the BOUNCE Bash, which is a time where students get to meet BOUNCE staff, sing, play games and meet BOUNCERS from other churches. Students also had a time where they were able to meet the team that they will be working on their sites with. The worksite teams are made up of students from all different churches. The evening wrapped up with a worship service. Worship Speaker Randy Beggs talked about how counter-cultural it was to follow Jesus. He encouraged students to leave behind and put to rest the things that keep them from following God's will.
Ministry teams will be up early tomorrow morning to be commissioned and head out into Mineral Wells to help restore hope, rebuild the community and reflect Christ! There are roofing, painting and siding projects that BOUNCERS will be doing this week. The weather will be hot, as we are expecting to touch the 100s a couple of times throughout the week, so pray for the health and safety of all of our BOUNCERS. Pray that the lives of students, adults, homeowners and community members will be changed as a result of Christ's love being reflected this week!
