We are excited to say that all of our students arrived safely in Dallas! We welcomed 82 students and leaders from 5 different churches. FBC Rockwall, Spring Creek Fellowship of Big Spring, FBC Chilton, Crosswinds Community Church of Hobbs, NM and FBC Lufkin were the churches that brought BOUNCERS to serve with us this week.
There is a general sense of excitement and energy around our lodging facility. Students are eager to serve the community here, as they have been preparing spiritually for this week for quite some time. They are ready to witness to their homeowners through their construction projects.
Shortly after arriving, BOUNCERS went to the BOUNCE BASH, which is a high-energy time to meet Team BOUNCE, sing songs, play games and have a little fun. Students also had an opportunity to meet their ministry team who they will be serving alongside for this week of BOUNCE. The evening closed with a worship session and a reflection time for the students with their youth groups to focus on God and His purposes for them this week. Worship Speaker Ryan Jespersen talked about triumphs and failures of Peter. He emphasized and encouraged students to respond and think of things they can give up for the purposes of Christ. There were many BOUNCERS who responded in a time of invitation.
Ministry teams will be up bright and early on Tuesday to be sent out to their ministry worksites to begin the work for the week. The projects will include mostly painting and roofing. Bouncers will be working through the morning and afternoon every day this week through Friday.
