DALLAS–On Nov. 5, Texas Baptists is joining with the 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative (21CWI) for Speak Freedom Texas, a statewide day of prayer and awareness-raising for religious minorities around the globe facing persecution.

Texas Baptists to support Project: Start for North Texas Giving Day


On Sept. 14, as people across the Metroplex give to various community organizations through North Texas Giving Day, Texas Baptists are encouraging donations to Project: Start, a refugee resource center located in Vickery Meadow.

With over 30 different languages spoken, their needs are as diverse as the community itself.

The Week of Prayer for Texas Missions and the Mary Hill Davis Offering is September 10-17, 2017. With a statewide goal of $3.6 million, the offering will go to support mission endeavors around Texas through strategic partnerships in 2018. BOUNCE revises schedule to serve in Harvey-affected areas


DALLAS–In response to the devastating destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey, BOUNCE, the student disaster recovery ministry of Texas Baptists, has revised the 2018 schedule for spring break and summer mission trips to solely serve Harvey-affected areas along the Gulf Coast.

Hurricane Harvey’s impact on the Gulf Coast has been catastrophic, and the storm is likely to cause additional damage for days to come. Some 13 million Texans are currently under a flood watch or warning.

Texas Baptists host historic presentation of Uzbek Bible


DALLAS–Texas Baptists, alongside the Institute for Bible Translation (Moscow, Russia) and Global Heart Ministries (Plano, TX), recently hosted a historic presentation of the first translation of the Holy Bible into the Uzbek language.

Elijah Brown, executive vice president of the 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative, was elected to serve as the next General Secretary of the Baptist World Alliance. Singing Women of Texas to host Texas Lone Star Mission Tour


DALLAS – The Singing Women of Texas, Texas Baptists’ affiliated women’s choir, is hosting the Texas Lone Star Mission this June to benefit charities around the state.

Executive board approves 2017 proposed budget, other business for upcoming Annual Meeting


The Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas convened September 26-27 in Dallas and approved numerous recommendations including the 2017 proposed budget of $36.638 million.

Texas Baptist Mission Foundation awards $242,000 in ministry grants


DALLAS - The Texas Baptist Mission Foundation has awarded $242,000 in grants to be used for ministry by Texas Baptists ministry staff in 2017.

In August, the TBMF Council considered and approved 28 grant requests, funded by undesignated donor gifts, to be used for ministry projects by Texas Baptists, Texas Baptist Men and WMU of Texas.
