BOUNCERS kicked off their first day of work this morning with GO TIME! GO TIME is a rally where students participated in warm-up activities and relay races to prepare for the day ahead. Following this, BOUNCERS were prayed for and commissioned by Mission Coordinator Shawn Edwards to head into Dallas to begin rehabilitating homes! A total of nine ministry teams were sent out to work on various homes in South Dallas.
It was a hot day on the ministry worksites, but that didn't stop BOUNCERS from working hard. BOUNCERS scraped paint, worked on roofs and painted houses. Lunch this week for the ministry worksites is being provided by volunteers from several churches in the Dallas Baptist Association. The lunch break was accompanied by a student-led devotional.
As with every evening, the night ended with a worship service. Worship speaker Ryan Jespersen drove home the point that this week at BOUNCE wasn't the only time BOUNCERS are called to be missionaries. Most students acknowledged that they had family or friends who are in need of Jesus. He encouraged the students to respond in whatever way they needed to. Whether it was to accept Christ as savior, to answer a call to vocational ministry or be more committed to their local church, BOUNCERS were invited to do so.
The BOUNCERS are ready to go back to their ministry worksites tomorrow morning and continue their projects and witnessing to the City of Dallas!
