Bouncing Into Summer 2019

Tomorrow, six Texas-based churches will arrive at South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena, TX to begin the first week of the summer 2019 disaster recovery projects with Bounce. They will focus their work on areas devasted by hurricane Harvey. We are excited to welcome a cumulative of 96 students and volunteers from Brazos Meadows Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Fort Worth, First Baptist Church Kilgore, First Baptist Church Seguin, South Main Baptist Church Pasadena, and Westside Baptist Church.

This week is made possible by hardworking staff who have been preparing weeks in advance to get everything ready when the buses roll up tomorrow. Bounce Director, David Scott, has assembled a wonderful team for the summer and an exceptional collegiate staff consisting of Amy Prentice, Jonathan Ewing, Davis Harper, and Cecily McIlwainMichelle Merriott (Mission Coordinator)  and Jess Merriott (Construction Coordinator) have worked hard to plan an action-packed week for the teams. The Worship Speaker, Nick Cooper, will encourage and challenge Bouncers with the stories of some of the Bible's greatest heroes.  There are many others working tirelessly at work sites, the lodging facility (South Main Baptist Church), and elsewhere to make this a spectacular week.

Join us in praying for the ministry of the staff, students, volunteers, and residents of the houses we are working at this week? What a great God we serve! We are not only welcomed into a new community - the Kingdom of God but asked to be hands-on participants in it. Pray that Bouncers would be the hands and feet of Jesus in the communities they serve both in Houston and in their hometowns.
