We had a great week in Waco last week and the BOUNCE staff is excited to welcome our BOUNCERS who will be serving in Moore, Oklahoma! BOUNCERS will be arriving tomorrow afternoon. We are expecting about 150 students and leaders for our Moore mission. Churches participating in this week of BOUNCE are Baptist Temple of San Antonio, First Baptist Church Cisco, First Baptist Church El Paso, First Baptist Church Ponder, McQueeny Baptist Church and South Main Baptist Church of Pasadena. Students and staff will be lodged and fed at Emmaus Baptist Church in Moore
This week, teams will be working in long-term disaster recovery efforts as they will be repairing homes that were damaged during the 2013 and 2015 tornadoes that took place in Moore. Some of the jobs that BOUNCERS will be taking on this week are roofing, painting, fencing, clearing brush and landscaping. This week, BOUNCE will be working with Serve Moore in our efforts to restore hope to families in the area. BOUNCERS will be working on 15 sites in the Moore and Oklahoma City area this week.
This week's coordinators are Michelle Merriott (Mission Coordinator), Jess Merriott (Construction Coordinator) and David Scott (Worship Speaker). The summer collegiate staff consists of Kyle Crim, Stephen Engstrom, Julia Siebelink and Amy Valenta. Staff members are looking forward to welcoming all of our student missionaries this week! We pray that the students realize that their service can make an impact on lives. We also hope that students experience Christ in a way that they will go back to their homes, schools and communities and share His love with those they come into contact with.
Moore is the first disaster recovery mission of the summer. We pray that hope is restored, the community of Moore is rebuilt and, most importantly, that Christ is reflected to all people who come into contact with BOUNCERS!
