Bounce collegiate staff had the opportunity to visit and work at all four worksites this morning. It was so great to work alongside these awesome students. Some of our staffers used their first electric saw and nail gun, climbed atop their first roof, and helped with their first fence. Our junior high and high school students were great instructors today. They encouraged us through the heat of the day.
We got a lot of roofing and shingling completed for a shed and one of our resident’s houses. Putting on shingles is a humbling task. It takes a lot of patience and can go rather quickly but only if your team communicates well. Let me tell you…when it is hot, the sun is beating down on you, and you’re kneeling on hot shingles….it can be difficult to communicate well. However, Bouncers made a point to cheer each other with words of affirmation. The work was done quickly and efficiently.
It was a joy to serve with these students and watch them naturally fall into servant-leadership roles. We praise God for the work He is doing in the lives of Bouncers. Serving them and watching them serve is the highlight of the Bounce experience. Pray that they would be encouraged to finish out their last day of work tomorrow.
