Restoring Hope to Port Arthur and Nederland

BOUNCERS arrived in Nederland, TX today from all across Texas and Georgia. Students and BOUNCE Volunteers arrived excited for the opportunity to restore hope to Port Arthur and Nederland this week through the hard work of rebuilding homes affected by Hurricane Harvey. The week kicked off with the BOUNCE Bash where students had fun playing games, but where they also learned the serious nature of the work that they will be doing this week.

The Mission Coordinator and Worship Speaker, Aaron Austin, shared a message with the students from Acts 1:8. Aaron reminded the students of the power of the Holy Spirit and encouraged them to let the Holy Spirit work through them this week. Aaron emphasized the importance of the work the students were doing and how it was a means to share the gospel with the homeowners they will be engaging with this week.

Students were asked to prayerfully consider giving financially to the BOUNCE Missions Offering. While the work that the students will be doing this week will bring the communities of Port Arthur and Nederland one step closer to rehabilitation, recovery will be a long term effort. The BOUNCE Missions Offering is an opportunity for the students to continue to restore hope to communities in Harvey affected area. The proceeds from the BOUNCE Mission Offering will go towards ongoing disaster recovery work.
