During Tuesday morning’s worship service of the 2018 Texas Baptists Family Gathering, Ralph West, pastor and founder of The Church Without Walls, in Houston, Texas, preached a powerful message on oneness.
West began speaking on the unity of believers after reading from Ephesians 2:11-18. “All of us know that we have tried to bring humanity into oneness through our own efforts,” he said. “This morning, Paul reminds us that oneness can only be achieved through one person, and that is the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
He continued, saying that as Texas Baptists at the Family Gathering, we were called to be a people of oneness; a people that makes peace. He said, “Christ has done His work on Calvary. He has already broken down the wall and given us access to Him. That nobody's off-limits to Him whether they be Jew or Gentile, female or male, or whether they be white or black."
“Now you and I have some walls we need to bring down,” he proclaimed. “We have a Christ who has come and who has brought us peace and now we can come out of our trenches. We can come out of our apartments, our high-rises, our gated communities, our suburbs and our slums, our tents, and come into the no man’s land and we too can say ‘peace on earth, good will to all men.’”
